B is for (kick ass art) Book
Skylight Books in Los Feliz makes me a better person. Period. I'm not kidding, every time I go into that wonderland of a store for a casual peruse, I come out with an incredible find. Ready for my first "kick ass art book" post? Yonder by Marnix Goossens. Just hurry up and click "read more" so you can see the rest of this book already...
I can't even deal with this book, I know it seems like I may be slightly over-exaggerating (which I tend to do, so I get it) but for some reason this book struck a cord with me. I want to shout from a mountain top how happy the images and layouts makes me. I photographed some of my favorite pages on my bed. Oh and before you judge, we just got linen sheets ok... so the natural state is wrinkly.
The cover, white palm trees, is actually a print that comes off and un-folds, thanks dude! Here is the hard cover.
They really had me at sea-foam green pages, also the pages with type are almost a thin newspaper. Eeek let's continue!
I mean, are you not in love? Pop of color with the crumbled mountain scene? It almost makes me mad because it makes me so happy.
Ok that's enough of a sneak peek for you. Go buy it! It's well worth it! Skylight has it retailing at $51.
